About This Group

A Different Kind of Therapy

Individual therapy is powerful — but there's something that only happens in a room with others who get it. Group therapy offers a unique healing environment where you're not alone in your experience, and where the group itself becomes a catalyst for change.

I'm opening enrollment for a new 8-week group therapy series at CUTI Therapy, specifically designed for Trillium OHP members in Eugene. This is not a lecture or a class — it's a living, breathing therapeutic community.

"The group becomes a microcosm of the world — and within it, real change happens."

I don't limit this group to a specific diagnosis. Life is complex, and so are the people in it. What matters most is a genuine desire to grow, connect, and show up — for yourself and for others in the room.

All participants go through an initial screening to ensure the group is cohesive and safe for everyone. This isn't a barrier — it's how we protect the integrity of the space.

Session Structure

Inside Each 90-Minute Session

A consistent, predictable structure that creates safety and depth.

0–15 min Check-In

Each member briefly shares their current state — emotionally, physically, and mentally. This grounds the group and builds attunement.

15–40 min Process

Open group processing time. Members share what's alive for them, respond to each other, and explore interpersonal dynamics in real time.

40–65 min Education

A brief psychoeducation segment on a relevant topic: nervous system regulation, attachment, cognitive patterns, or trauma responses.

65–80 min Peer Feedback

Structured peer reflection — members offer observations and support to each other in a guided, boundaried format.

80–90 min Close & Anchor

A grounding close. Members share one takeaway or intention. The session ends with a brief somatic anchor to return to the body.

FAQ

Common Questions

Is group therapy covered by Trillium OHP in Eugene?
Yes. Group therapy (CPT code 90853) is a covered behavioral health benefit under Oregon Health Plan, including Trillium Community Health Plan. For most Trillium members, there is a $0 copay. We verify your benefits before your first session so there are no surprises.
Do I need a referral to join?
No referral is needed. Simply email eric@cuti-therapy.com to schedule a brief initial screening. The screening helps ensure the group is a good fit for you and for the other members.
What if I'm already in individual therapy?
Group therapy works beautifully alongside individual therapy. Many clients find that the group accelerates their individual work by giving them a live environment to practice new skills and receive real-time feedback.
Is this group confidential?
Yes. All members agree to a group confidentiality agreement at the start of the series. What is shared in the group stays in the group. Standard legal exceptions apply (e.g., imminent safety concerns).
What if I miss a session?
Life happens. We ask that members commit to attending as consistently as possible, as continuity is important for the group's cohesion. If you need to miss a session, please let me know in advance.
Is this group trauma-focused?
The group is trauma-informed — meaning the entire structure is designed with trauma awareness — but it is not a trauma-processing group. We don't require members to share traumatic details. The focus is on present-day functioning, connection, and growth.
How is this different from a support group?
This is a professionally facilitated, clinically structured group therapy series — not a peer support group. It is led by a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and follows evidence-based group therapy principles. Insurance billing (including OHP) is available because it meets the clinical definition of group psychotherapy.
